SNS Card Sketch #149

Well I have a cute card share for you today using a versatile sketch that i see myself using again and again. I was invited to a baby shower for one of my daughters oldest friends (months ago?) and had all sorts of ideas on what to make. I happened to not be able to make it so my daughter asked me if I was going to stop by. I said, I can but why? She said to drop off that gift...wait what?!?!

You would think that I know better by now to procrastinate!

pro·cras·ti·nate
/prəˈkrastəˌnāt/
verb
  1. delay or postpone action; put off doing something.

Nope I am not sure I will ever learn...so sketch to the rescue.

I made up this quick card using that adorable paper pack from my Hello card

Then I had to figure out what in the world I was going to make her...I decided to make up some Holiday Onsies that she can use as the holidays approach. Now had I thought this through a lot more I could have made these shirts on different color shirts but a procrastinator can only do so much when they hardly have any time!!! Anyway for the most part I like how they turned out (spoiler alert - she loved them).

Here is another angle on the card you can see I popped the hearts up and added some bling.

So here is the adorable Sketch #149 we would LOVE to see what you do with it...ehem...sooner rather than later.

H2H Woodwork

Today over at Heart2Heart we are are incorporating some woodwork on our projects! We can't wait to see what you come up with for this one.

I was flipping through the new idea book and ran across a card on page 36 that I really liked. I changed it up a bit but can I just tell you how much I love how this turned out? The little bit of green behind the wood tree is not something I would have ever done, had I not seen it in the idea book...I guess that is why they call it that! Do you use the idea book to jump start your creative process?

Here is my card

Supplies
all CTMH unless otherwise noted

Cardstock - White Daisy, Fern, Sapphire
Paper - Into the Wild
Ink - Sapphire
Stamps - Sweet Girl - Cardmaking
Other - Into the Wild Wood Shapes, White Burlap Ribbon, Fancy Tags Thin Cuts

Sweet Baby Girl

Hello back again with an exclusive Birthday Bash Crop challenge

My daughter takes the most adorable photos of my grandkids and this one is one of my favorites of my youngest one at 6 months.

I used some papers from the Beautiful Friendship Kit and love the feel of the page and as I was adding the finishing touches I noticed my kit had a sticker that said "Pearls are always appropriate" I also finished up the page with some pearls instead of my normal bling. I am loving how it all came together, but I am little bit biased with the subject matter. I also used some PML cards for the middle parts. You don't only have to use those in pocket scrapbooking projects. Often time they are perfect page elements.

Let see what you come up with for Birthday Bash Sketch #2:

Baby Blast

My daughter called me and asked me if there was anyway I could make her a couple of cards I of course said yes I sure can. She needed it asap and whenever I have to come up with a good idea quick I always always always grab a sketch.

I decided to see what I could come up with for this fun card sketch #121 from Sketch N Scrap.

I had this super cute Stargazer paper from the last Seasonal Expressions Catalog from CTMH that I had not had time to play with yet. I decided to just use the PML card and cut out the Rocket Ship which I popped up with some tape. Then I stamped the sentiments and added the little jewels.

This card took about 20 minutes and the bulk of that was picking out the papers and deciding where to put my gems.

Here is the inside of the card.

A close up so you can see some of the details.

Here is Sketch #121 if you want to give it a go.

Head on over the the Sketch N Scrap blog and enter your project by May 31 to be eligible to win a great prize. Good Luck!

Welcome to the world!

My daughter had her first baby recently!

Little Spencer...he is just perfect, and sweet, and beautiful, and I can just go on and on. Mom, Dad, and baby are all home and doing great.

I wanted to make him a special little name frame that matched his bedroom so I dug into my stash and found some Hooligans Paper from way back in the day. It was so old that I had to re-glue some of the cute little felt monsters back together. blushing...this is just a lesson to you all USE YOUR STASH.

I love the way it turned out! My daughter and son in law kept changing their minds (read daughter) on what the room was going to be. First it was going to be nautical, then outer space, he suggested monsters inc early on but she didn't want to do that.

So round and round she went pinning this and that. I of course knew I wanted to do a name frame all along so every time she would get a new plan I would go digging...LOL when she told me they went with monsters I just got giddy. I had the perfect paper for a monsters inc frame...except....a while back I went to a crop where you can sell stuff and for some insane reason I decided to sell these little felt monsters. GASP what was I thinking? The best part though is my friend Natalie actually bought them and she is also a scrapbooker (errr hoarder) and so I texted her and told her the wonderful baby news and asked her is she still had those stickers. She said yes!!! Wahoooo!!!!

So I got to make my name frame and I love how it turned out. I decided to go with a 12 x 12 because the background paper is from a level 1 kit and already had that cute blue on there and so I just measured out each of the squares.

Then I popped a few of them up. I also decided I would add his details to some of the other squares. It just all came together really quick.

I made a cute card using the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge. Here is the inside. I kept it pretty simple. They loved the gift and I had to hand deliver it...ya know so I can get some more sweet baby time. Oh how I just love newborns.

Artiste - Day 26

Hello! Welcome to the Artiste blog hop you have probably arrived from Kathy's blog if not feel free to start right here.

I  thought I would make a cute little mini album, also for my cousin. I kept it pretty plain as I am not sure is she is having girls or boys or both and since each day really will be an adventure...

Anyway I used the chipboard that comes with the Artiste Cartridge and added some bakers twin and ribbon to the jump rings.

I adore mini books. How about you? Do you love them? Do you make them?

Hop on over to Jen's blog and see what she has in store. I will see you tomorrow.

Finally I came across this adorable set (which can be your for only $5) that is a special this month and next and saw the enjoy the ride sentiment. Now if you have kids or even just have seen a kid you know that they can be a wild ride...she is going to have two of them I knew right then and there that I wanted to use the bike and sentiment for the card. Speaking of the card it is shaped like a diaper...hello adorable. I am telling you this Artiste cartridge is a must have! I just cannot get enough of it. I have been doing this hop all month long and I am still finding new fun things each day. Grab one for yourself you won't regret it.

I see a Pink Elephant in the room...

I had a great thing happen this week and have techonology to thank for it. I was talking to my upline about finally getting my groove back and wanting to work on a new project. Durring this conversation I asked her what she was working on and she said she was working on a project for a team meeting. Then she asked if I wanted to sit in on the meeting via FaceTime. I was so super excited and said yes of course I want to!!!

I had so much fun meeting everyone and was a bit envious of the weather as they got to sit outside I even saw my upline Jayma with a jacket in the sunshine. I was sitting in the dark with a fan on as it is pretty hot in the midwest right now. It went pretty smooth as we both had our iPhones proped up and we only ran into one or two snafu's. She lost a signal and I had to plug in which meant I had to flip my phone upside down...so it was a bit of a wild ride for 3 seconds. Haha I did end up bowing out a we bit early so I thought I would share with them as well as you my project that I was working on.

Since I knew they were going to be working on their projects and I figured I would find something to work on as well. I have been eyeballing this set for a while and picked it up before I moved so I thought now would be a great time to break it out. I knew I wanted to play with my Copics so I went ahead and inked up all of the images and sorted through them trying to decide which image that I wanted to use. The little elephant is the one that called my name the most.

I colored the elephant with my copics and I also colored the clear sparkles as well. I thought I had some pink ones that would match but I only had two and I needed six.

When I color an image I often like to color the main one and then I usually pop it up it give the card some added deminsion.

I also always like to finish the inside off as well.

I will do my best to get back to my studio in the next few days but I can't make any promises. It is suppose to be close to 100 every day and humid. I don't have central air just a window unit that doesn't quite reach my studio...but I will do my best. :)

Thank you ladies for letting me sit in I have a wonderful time and it was fun to "meet" all of you.

Pattern Paper - Lucy
Stamps - New Arrival
Embelishments - Clear Sparkles
Ink - Hollyhock, Tuxedo Black

Baby....

It's cold outside....baby love...baby baby....I have not done a baby post in a long time cause that baby girl is now a toddler.

I was really happy when I ran across this picture as I don't have a lot of photo's of her in her little billi blanket. I can still remember the feelings that I had when I found out she was jaundice. I was so scared and sad that she had to go through this. Looking back I know that those feelings are a little crazy especially since my oldest was also jaundice and that more than likely she would be fine. Because I had these feelings that I didn't really know what to do with I didn't take a lot of photos of the set up. So when I came across this one of Danielle and her friend I was so happy that she stopped by to see and hold the new baby.

I stamped the base of the page with sky ink on sky cardstock from Close To My Heart using Snow Flurries
I also added some CTMH chipboard snowflakes - Flurry and some bling...love me some bling. These snowflakes look awesome with glitter too but I just added some CTMH Sparkles
A few thicker letters....love those

and some close ups of the little squares. Those squares are from the December Personal Scrapper Kit featuring Fancy Pants Designs paper. it is the Tradition l

and a last look

Down by the seashore

Many moons ago I drove all by myself from Chicago to the Atlantic ocean with my girls. It was a huge thing for me at the time and I think it still would be today. It was amazing and wonderful I had them convinced that they would see blue grass in Kentucky, we stayed with a friend in North Carolina and then on the way home we went into a cool cave. It was an awsome vacation! I had always wanted to dip my toes in the Atlantic as I had never been to the east coast. It was very pretty and so much fun. The waves are so much smaller than they are in the Pacific.
Anyway you want to know about the scrapbook pages not my vaction. This is from a on line crop challenge over at Personal Scrapper. The task...do a black and white page and use either color or black and white photos as well. Originally I was going to do color photos but then I ran across these as I was getting together photo's for my 8th graders recognition night. I knew right away that I wanted to use these photos of my girls on the beach!
I loved the polka dots from the get go but struggled with the flowers and the rub ons...did I want buttons, did I want rub ons, journaling space, something else? I decided on the rub ons as they are cute and fun!
The flowers came to me at the last minute and then I decided to do the black brads in the middle and oh...so cute. Just like my little girls in their matching suits.
Oh how I miss those days when I could get away with matching outfits. These are very pretty to with fun bright colors. Perfect for a day at the beach.
I love the simplicity and the pure wonder that is caught in these photos.
I can't wait to get that new baby girl to the beach and man oh man I need a family vacation as the last one was apparently durring the summer of 2000. Yikes!
The paper is from the Silhouette level 2 paper pack and then you have the colonial white flowers and black brads and My Stickease letters.

A little baby love...

Today I thought I would show a little love...a little baby love that is. I was in a swap with a few friends and I received these pages from Stacy.
She used the gorgeous new paper That's Amore from CTMH. Her attention to details was just fabulous. Here she took one of our big flowers and stamped the word love on it and then she aged the petals and used a heart for the center. I didn't get a good photo of it but the heart is all sharkly goodness. I love a little sparkle here and a little bling there.

She also used the new Martha Steward punch at the top of the page. I love the effect. Stacy said she had to have it after seeing my monogram cards.
Moving over to the next page she featured the new brads and the cute little journaling cards. Both of which are coming on Wednesday. I cannot wait to play with them!
On thing that I thought was so fun about this page as the subject. I think she is my favorite person to scrapbook. I just want to squeeze her when I look at these photo's. I cannot beleive how fast she grew in the past year. I think it is so funny that next to the words "you're adored" her face is scrunched up like stop kissing me already!!! As if we could. My goodness those soft squishy cheeks are make for kissing.
I just wanted to add...is there anything more adorable than baby feet?

Dare to Daydream!

Happy New Year! Can you believe it is already 2009? I hope you had a wonderful Christmas season.

Hopefully you are not tired of reading about babies birthdays because I decided that I just had to scrapbook a few of my favotire pictures with CTMH's new Daydream paper along with the stamp set Cupcake Sprinkles (a must have).

I decided these will go into the family album. I am going to make her a cute little mini book soon filled with more photo's, her cards, and the little signature page that I had everyone sign when they came in.

Here is a close up of my favorite part of the page. I love the way the title came out. The title is made up of the Friendship Alphabet from CTMH stamped in Blush and the word birthday is a font using my new Christmas toy cut out in Sweet Leaf. I decided that the candle would be a perfect "i" and then I added some bling and some frosting...i.e. Liquid Glass to the cupcake and wala...a yummy little title.

I am trying to journal more on my pages. I don't know why I find it so hard I have kept a journal since I was 10 but I guess it is because I am worried about spelling and punctuation. A while back I decided that it is what it is and that I do make errors it is part of who I am so I catch what I can and don't worry about the rest. I try to make it my own writing most of the time as I love to see my ancestors handwritten document's.

Now that I have the end of 2008 scrapbooked I am going to start at the begining. What type of pages are you working on?
