SNS Layout #191

I decided to work with some photos from a gorgeous day last winter. I have a love hate relationship with winter. I really love it as it is so pretty and I feel like if it has to be cold it may as well be pretty. However winter seems to last forever and ever.

On this day last December I woke up in a winter wonderland. I think it had warmed up a little and made a fog from the mix of warm air and the cold ground. Then the temperatures dropped overnight and the fog froze and this was the result. I wish you could have seen it in real life because these photos just do not do it justice.

I used Sketch N Scrap Layout Sketch #191. We would love to see what you come up with so make sure you link up your page over at our blog.

Snow

I hope you have been able to join in our fun over on Facebook for the new Beginnings Crop... this is 3rd sketch challenge I hope you can play along.

I thought this was a fun sketch to capture my little ones love of snow. She was a not a big fan the first time she went out in it but once she figured out it snows around her birthday it was true love. I swapped out the two smaller photos for one large one.

Here we have Sketch N Scrap #60 for you to work with

Quick winter cards

Burrrr! We are in a deep freeze up here in Northern Illinois, how about in your area? I have decided I want to pick a kit each month and try to use it up. I have had some of these kits for almost a decade. In the past when I have saved pretty paper or embellishment those things have come and gone out of style. so really I need to be using my pretties in the moment. This month I am focusing in on some winter papers from Jan 2012 and maybe also some from Jan 2011.

I am playing along with the first card sketch over at Sketch-N-Scrap I love banners and thought this was a fun layout. Card #113

I made two cards and I made one horizontal and one vertical. Now that I am looking at them on screen I will probably go in and add some more bling here and there.

I did want them pretty simple so that they are easy to mail off.

The prize this month is so adorable and it features some winter paper from one of my favorites Simple Stories. Come play along, we would love to see your take on this sketch. You have until 9:55 pm CST, January 31st to play along.

Oh and one last thing, don't forget to grab our new button! Isn't it so adorable? You can find that on our blog too.

Wonderland

So if you stopped by yesterday you heard that I have been working with the Wonderland paper pack from Close To My Heart. I like to challenge myself with paper packs or scrapbook kits to use them up. I have done this since my Personal Scrapper kits started just looking pretty on the shelf and not getting used up. I mean why was I saving the paper? For that perfect photo of course. Well then I decided rather than adding to my collection I would start USING my collection I mean if I run out I will just get more. This make is a much more justifiable purchase if I am using it instead of collecting it. So use it I did. I ordered that Workshop on the go kit in December and finally used it up and here is what I came up with.

You have seen this one here before in the bad lighting...ok ok everyone I am convinced that even though I get excited to share right away I need to wait until the light of day...sorry for all my bad lighting shots in the past.

We boxed in our snow blower before a huge blizzard...so funny.

Here is more clean up shots I saw a cute page using this on Pinterest by Helen Onulak and changed out the papers I used. So cute...thanks Helen.

This one you saw yesterday for my entry into H2H - I used a non traditional color with snow photos

Here I added some pink sparkle letters...you can never have to much bling!

Adding another weird color for snow pics. I love how the orange pops!

I loved this card and used up the rest of the My Stickease I decided to pick up when I bought the WOTG. The card I copied almost identically used a stamp instead.

Here is what I had left.
