H2H Color Challenge

Hello everyone, this week over at Heart 2 Heart we have a color challenge.

Sage, Sapphire, and Sugarplum

I had a lot of fun making this card with our new Thin Cuts -Shaker Window & Confetti and Decorative Borders. I used the Loose Sequins to full up the shaker and I added some of the Heart Confetti. Have you tried the new thin cuts yet??? I am so in love with them and they add the finishing touch I am looking for to my cards.

I colored the butterfly from the Grateful Heart Cardmaking stamp set with the Sugarplum Shimmer Brush and oh my goodness this photo does not do it justice it is so pretty and so sparkly. I finished the card off with a couple of  Sugarplum Glitter Gems.

Stop of on over at our H2H blog to check out what project the rest of the Design Team came up with!

SNS #164 The Game

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful fall! A few years ago we went down south to celebrate Thanksgiving with my husbands family. We had so much fun and a serious game of Rummy happened. My hubby always likes to circle the winners and the losers especially...ehem, when he is the winner and so this time I happened to take a photo of it.

I used sketch #164 but I rotated it because I really wanted to feature the scores here.

I made a little journaling box and tucked a couple of Stitched Circle Thin Cuts. I also did a lot of fussy cutting on this beautiful Grateful Heart paper.

I also broke into my Gold Shimmer Trim...swoon.

Not sure if you can tell but I brushed the center of each of the flowers with a Gold Shimmer Brush.

Here is the sketch I used, make sure you stop over to the blog to see what  the Design Team came up with.

all CTMH unless otherwise noted

Cardstock - White Daisy, New England Ivy
Paper Pack - Grateful Heart
Other - Gold Shimmer Ribbon, Gold-flecked Gems, Gold Shimmer Brush, Spellbinders Rectangle Die, Stitched Circle Thin Cuts, very old stash family stickers

Scrapbooking scrapbooking scrapbooking!

I have been scrap-booking up a storm lately. I typically try to keep current or somewhat current...ya know in this decade.

My go to starting point is to use sketches! It is how I start almost every page. Mainly because after I have decided what photos and what papers I want to use I just want to get it down on the paper. Not to mention that is just how I roll. Even before I was a paper crafter I would work like that. If I had a project that I needed to draw or paint. I always did much better if I could just look at an example first and then work from there. Still life, an assignment, a pattern. I am creative I just need to be pointed in the right direction.

I love using our Close to my Heart pattern books. I also love using sketches from sketch blog...my favorite being Sketch N Scrap's sketches.

Today I have TWO projects to show you. The first one is for our Heart 2 Heart challenge using the FREE Magic Sketch that Jeanette Lynton shared on her blog not long ago.

My second project is using this adorable sketch from Sketch N Scrap SNS #163 I have been wanting to scrapbook these photos from a few years ago for a while and I thought that the You Are Here collection would be just perfect for our road trip.

I hope you can come and play along with us you have until the end of the month both challenges are open through the end of the month. Good luck!!
