SNS Layout #183

Last year we went to Florida to see my in-laws for Thanksgiving, sounds terrible doesn't it? Take me back!!!

I love going to my in-laws anytime but going in November is a real treat. We were lucky enough to be able to go out on a date-night while we were there.

The last time we went we tried to catch a sunset and wouldn't you know it we had a cloudy day!  This time around we had a gorgeous night. It may have been even sweeter because we knew the weather back in Northern Illinois was insane! I believe we got over a foot of snow and it was so COLD on top of that. We knew we should enjoy every moment of this beautiful evening away.

I used up some old thickers and was impressed that I only had to piece together the "e" and the "t's" with a C+L and an F. I am not sure if you can see it but I did some faux stitching up top as well as in the lower right hand corner.

Here is my stitching. I added some starfish and some gold nuggets into the circles.

Just another view. I really adore how each it was to use Sketch #183 to capture this special night.

Here is the sketch I used SNS #183 we would love to have you show us what you have come up with using this or one of our other sketches featured this month.

Come and see us soon!

SNS Layout Sketch #170 - Date Night

Here is what I came up with this week for this fun sketch. We went to Florida in November and after record breaking temperatures here in Illinois this week I am missing it terribly. Since we are stuck here working I could at least scrapbook it and remember how wonderfully warm the sand was between my toes.

When we  were in Florida a few years ago we went down to Fort Myers and tried to catch a sunset but it was overcast. This time we tried again and were not disappointed. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved shadow photos in front of sunsets. They used to have several cards like that at Hallmark in the late 70's early 80's, does anyone remember that?

Here is a close up of my little Date Night title. I cut it out from a picture my life card and then thought this sticker was just perfect.

I have to say I love how this all came together. I have had this CTMH No Worries paper for quite a while and have used a little of it here and there. I was afraid the background would fight again the sunset in the photo but it really complimented it instead.

Here is the sketch, we would love to see what you come up with over at the Sketch N Scrap blog.

Smile and go way way back.

I thought it would be fun to work with these photos from when my now husband and I first started dating. We went to a local college football game and it was unseasonably cold. We did not care we had a great time anyway. Every time I see these photos and our big smiles it makes me smile.

I hope you have been able to join in our fun over on Facebook for the Queen of Hearts Crop... this is 1st sketch challenge I hope you can play along.

I really enjoyed working with this sketch. I recently heard on a podcast that a current trend is to have embedded embellishments clustered behind something. When I saw this sketch I thought it might be fun to try that.

Here is Sketch #99:
