My Heart is..Perfect right now

Welcome to the Sketch -N- Scrap Blog Hop!

We decided to try something new this month and our team is sharing artwork today featuring a bonus sketch! Also we have a special phrase for you to decipher along the way. Each of our blog hop ladies has a word(s) BOLDED for you to complete the phrase from the beginning to the end of the hop. Once you have completed the phrase, EMAIL it to sketchnscrap@gmail.com for another chance at the grand prize! If you have come here from Tamika's blog, then you are on the right path.

Our theme for our hop is Love Grows Where the Heart is...as I tried to decide what I wanted to scrapbook I came across these photos from my 40th birthday. I am not a big fan of them but at 40 if you don't learn to love yourself what will you have to offer others? There are a million things I thought I would have accomplished by 40 that I didn't. There are a million other things that I did accomplish. I think maybe part of the  reason I don't like these photos is because my whole WORLD had been crashing down around me leading up to my birthday and I was not really sure if I was prepared to take on my 40's or not. My 20s seemed a little tragic and my 30s were really a happy time and so since I had lots of final straws at 39 and had to decide where I wanted to take myself I decided that I could handle my 40's and I could handle them with grace, acceptance, and love...love of myself where I am right now. I have tons of changes I want to make in this decade. I need to pick up the pieces from a failed marriage. I need to start over financially. I need to lose the weight I have been saying I will lose for the past two decades. I want to send off my girls to each of their new life stages with the knowledge that they can do anything in the WORLD that their hearts desire. I want to enjoy those who love me. I want to make even more new friends and cherish my old friends.  I want to embrace who I have have become because of where I have been and enjoy each and every day! I want to remember that even though life is never perfect sometimes it can be perfect right now! At 40 I have learned to embrace who I am and you know what it is pretty liberating.  So no I don't think I am perfect .. but I am right now ~

Artiste - Day 3

Hello there...welcome to day 3 of our Artiste blog hop. What a treat you are in this August everything I make with this cartridge is so fun and so easy to do. Also it has been super fast.  When I first said I wanted to do this I was so excited and I thought it would be so fun...then I started to panic...a post a day? A project a day? So far though I have spent about 20 - 1 hour on each project. Easy peasy...now we are three days in so check back at day 13 or day 23...lol

Ok so you know the drill by now hopefully you are coming from Kathy's Creative Corner but if you are just getting started that is great because this is a circular hop so you will get to see all the adorable projects.

Today I used Pemberly to do a flower box....what do you think?

Do you see the burlap? I used it on the back of the heart so it looks great from all angles. This little flower box would be so perfect for a little gift or a fun table setting. You can change the "flower" to be hearts, leaves, snowflakes...the list of ideas is endless.

Please continue on to Roxybonds blog to see her creation.

Sketch-n-Scrap # 13 - Joy

Sketch 13 is here from Sketch-n-Scrap isn't it a beauty and lots of photo's on this one. I love sketches when I can get a lot of photo's on. Often if I love a design I will change out the number of photo's if it only has one or two. I stayed pretty true to the sketch changing around the photo size a little and I also swapped the title and the accent at the bottom. Something else that I decided to do with this sketch is to turn it from a one page to a two page again. This time instead of coming up with something similar or stretch the sketch I am turning two single sketches into a double sketch. I coordinated this page to go with my sketch 12. Take a look here. As you can see I did some more fancy cutting on this page.

I cut out a butterfly and two small flowers here. I put a glue dot down in the middle of the butterfly and pulled the wings up. I love doing this because it makes the butterfly look like there is some movement.

Here I cut the hexagons apart and lined them up all in a row and added some pearls to the centers. I also cut that large flower.

You can see here that I tried to flip up the flower petals as well. Just giving a little more dimension without making my page to thick.

I hope you can take the time to play along this week at Sketch-n-Scrap. Head on over to see what everyone else is doing and hear about some great changes.
