Seriously...

So I saw Ms. Chillin when the new idea book came out and I knew that I had to have her right away! As a mom of two teenage girls I could just see so many fun cards and scrapbook pages in my head and here is one of them. I made this for my middle daughter Savannah and even though you would never know it I used Copics to color her in. I have been trying to build up my collection and hone in on my technique watching YouTube videos and what not. I love love love to color which was another reason I wanted this set.

I used the level 2 Boom-di-ada paper pack it is so fresh and fun and full of spring. Spring...ahhh it cannot come soon enough!

retirement seems so far off...

but not for one of my friends husband. He has been looking forward to this for quite a while! Congrats to him.

So I am on my way out the door to go to a retirement party and realized eek I need a card. Not only do I need a card I need a card for a man. Double yikes! I went down to my playhouse and tried to figure out what to do. I started flipping through the wishes book and saw the cutest card! Next up some paper...I went with Everyday Celebrations which is also where the stamp came from. I also used the small friendship alphabet, and the new set Authentic. I added some eyelets, popped out the 100% guarnatee and tied some ribbon and now am good to go. I love the way the card turned out. I hope you enjoy it.

Tuesday tune up...

with a pink guitar. Now that I have broke this set in I can't wait to do a few projects for my husband who is a musician. Before I do that I want to share another girly card using Daydream level 2 paper.

For this card I stamped the guitar on a square and then trimmed it down. From there I stamped another guitar and cut it out without the flourishes and popped it up. I also outlined it and added some strings.

Emporium Wings...

Here are two more cards from my long distance suprise stamp camp. These two were my favorites. I just love how they turned out. For this card I just stampped Crystal Blue close together and then popped the heart up on top of it. I don't think you can tell with this photo but I have a crystal blue mat under the white adn a Sweat Leaf mat under the pattern paper. I added the brads in the corner and some ribbon. quick easy fun cute card.

My next card I ventured out and used the guitar and I love how it turned out. I was a little fearful of what I was going to do with this but once I started stamping the creativity just took over. I hope you like the end result.

I used the rock and roll technique ont he guitar and the wings. I first stamped in sweat leaf and then came back in and just rolled the ink along the edges in cocoa and this is how it turned out. I did the same thing on the wings. I also made my own patterned paper with the your a star stamp.

Here are the two cards together.

Your a Star!

A friend of mine wanted was looking for ideas for this stamp set but I could really find anything that really jumped out at me. I couldn't find much at all really. It is a newer set and so I figured I was on my own. I decided to blog hop first and see what I could find that involved stars and that I liked. I came up with this beatufiul card by SusieStampALot and knew that the set and the papers were just perfect! Usually when I find something that inspires me I change out more of the design to put my own spin on it but I just really like the over all look of the card so I stayed pretty close to form.
Supplies:
Daydream Level 2 Paper Packet
Organdy Ribbon
Spring Craft Buttons
Star Power stamp set

Playing catch up...well sort of

I made of few goals for myself this eyar and one of them was to get more into the Word and have a better relationship with the Guy Upstairs. I have been doing pretty good and I really feel like things are clicking better than they have in the past. I have been studying, praying, and to help make it fun participating in Patter Cross' Scripture Challenge 2 I am really enjoying myself because not only do I get to become closer with God I get to make something pretty. I have been participating and have not been able to find a moment to upload to my blog so I thought I would share challenges 1, 2 and 3 here and tell a little about each one.

Challenge One - Hope
Now I already did this one but I really was not happy with it at all so I redid it. I found a scripture that keeps popping up lately. Psalms 25:4-5
Show me the right path, O Lord, point out the road for me to folow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me all day long I put my hope in you.

Here is another view closer up where you can see the bling in the middle that I colored with a Copic Marker. I hope you can also see the pretty sparkle paper and the delicate ribbon. So often I feel like my Hope is delicate and and fragil. That is why I decided these verses were more fititng to me. I want to be able to remember to put my hope where it belongs in God. I want to be lead by him and taught by him each and every day.

Challenge word two - Temptation
Ah temptation...this is something I know a lot about. It is also something I am very bad at, something I need to avoid. I always give in. For this one I did my card in green, one of my favorite colors. I chose green because it is crisp and fresh. I feel that if you are fresh and alert temptation is easier to avoid. I also added some hidden journalling behind my scripture choice so that when I look at it I can remember that I can do this if I stay fresh...get enough sleep, spend time with God, exercise, eat right, these things make me feel better and if I feel better I feel more able to look temptation in the face and resist it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience and God is faithful. He will not alow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted He will show you a way out so that you can endure.
view with the journaling tab basically I just wrote a prayer that I have here front to back.

Patter's latest challenge word...wow...Abide

This word was tricky at first. Even though I have been a Christian for many years I don't think that you can always tell as I am not Abiding in him. I decided that for this one I realy needed something to shout at me...HEY YOU make sure that you are remaining by God, constant contact, take up residence...I saw this word and I looked it up in my bible...nothing, so I grabbed another one, and then another, and another ahh this one has a reference to look at other words {obey, remain} so I grabbed another this had abide and listed scripture. I then went to the concordence and wow there was tons of scripture. It has been really great going through it all but nothing is jumping off the page at me that I wanted to put on a card and then I did a search on line for Abide and came up with some songs. One of them really made me pause it was so beautiful it is by Ana Laura and it is called Abide in me. The song talks about making a place in your heart for Jesus. if he does not have a place in your heart you will be a fool. Abide in Jesus every day. Let Him into your heart in all areas of your life where He belongs. This struck me and I am tired of being a fool I want Him in all areas of my life not just the ones that "I" pick out. I want to make sure that I go to Him with my thoughts, my problems, my joy, my mundane...He cares about all of that stuff and if I let Him in He will be there. You know what...I bet He will even help me out with that temptation factor err or lack there of.

Awww...it's Cupid

with his bow and arrow. A few years ago he struck me. I did not notice this cute little stamp set until a friend of mine got him...then another one got him. Only then did I say wow that cupid is just adorable. I just didn't notice him last year when he came out but this year the projects in the catalog are OH SO CUTE!

I tried to come up with my own cutnesss and did a round card. I used the That's Amore paper pack. On the inside it says "by Love"

Here is another view I have the cupid popped up. I really love the way this turned out. I like the added scalop under the pattern paper. I try to cut multiple sizes when I get into my nesties and then just have them on hand for when I do  a card or a scrapbook page.

How about some cake?

I am so in love with the Peice of Cake stamp set! I have actually been creating a ton but have just not even found a second to post a little yummy goodness to all of my blogging friends. My little one has decided that she should not only go to bed when I do but sleep in my bed. It has been fun. I thought she was such a big girl in her toddler bed, forgetting how much freedom that gives them. whops...anyway we have a new bed time routine and most of the time it work here is what happens when it doesn't
Ok so now onto some yummy cards. I have been getting a few requests for birthday cards and so I thought this set was perfect for a birthday bananza workshop! I will share a few cards that we will be making. We are doing six, one for each cake in the set but I will show off my two favorites tonight.

I love the way the cake turned out in this card. On the inside I just have a bunch of the candles along  the bottom it looks super cute.

For this one I just like it because it woud totally work for a man/boy card.

Look for more later.
:)
