Fall

Oh how I adore fall. I really love each and every season. The change from one to another makes me just look forward to different things all year round. There is just something special though about a perfect fall day.  I wanted to capture that in this card that I made for the last WCMD sketch over at Sketch N Scrap. There has been so much going on over there I hope you have been able to participate in the regular challenges, the crop, or the World Card-making Day challenges.

Here is what I came up with. I decided to pick out a stamp set that I wanted to play around with and then I grabbed some papers and matched up my ink.

I did the Rock and Roll technique, which is one of my favorites. You stamp your image in the main color and then you roll the image in a second color so that you end up with a few different colors instead of just one solid image.

I also crinkled the leaves a little and then added some pop dots strategically under them.

I kept the inside pretty simple.

Here is the sketch It is super cute I love playing around with banners. I feel like I went way out side the box this time around. Normally I follow a sketch fairly close but I left off the circle and mimicked it with the leaves and I also extended the back strip into a ribbon.

Happy Halloween...zippy

I loved this sketch because I have a million zip strips or branding strips laying around and this is a great sketch to use some of those up. I had been digging around in my area where I keep them and loved how it all came together.

I was also able to use some chipboard embellishments as well as some very old eyelets. This card was a win win win as far as bashing my stash goes.

Did I also mention I was able to use up a sticker as well? Here is the inside of the card featuring the sticker and more of my zip strip.

I hope you enjoyed the card. I have another big announcement soon.

Boo

My little Maizie was a panda last year for Halloween. We went a little late to get a costume...cough cough...like always and they were so pricy. As we were walking around we saw some jammies with hoods one was a panda so we just ran with that. It was a win win really.

I did this layout for Sketch N Scrap #139 I have the honor of being a guest designer over there this month. It has been a blast! SNS was my first DT gig when they first started up back in 2012!

I used up some paper from Bella Blvd that I have in my stash.

I hope you can join us over there the October prize is soooo cute! Head on over and check it out you have until October 31st at 9:55 pm CST to play along.

A little Mummy Love

So you may or may not know this about me but I have a little soft spot for the Pure Innocence line over at My Favorite Things. I just cannot get enough of those little girls. They are just so stinking cute and when I saw this Mummy last year on sale I had to grab them.

This card came together pretty fast I used my Copics who have been feeling a little neglected and I also used some crochet ribbon that I have had forever and a day. I again used my Frankie and Friends line of paper.

I popped up the mummy and added some dots.

I used the pattern paper again. I love the look with that chevron. One of my favorite things to do inside of the cards is to pull in some banners from the paper that I designed with on the front.

Here are all the cards that I shared over these last few weeks. I plan on sending them to my step-daughter and grandkids for Halloween. Hopefully they enjoy getting the happy mail.

Here is my sketch from the online crop over at Sketch N Scrap

Are you still here wondering what my good news is? Well I am the Guest Designer this month over at Sketch N Scrap!!! I used to be a team member over there when the site first opened but family obligations and life stuff was getting in the way of my crafty time so I had to step away. I am so looking forward to joining in on the fun this month.

Olive Hats

I really love olive. Green has been my favorite color for decades. I love most every shad and I also adore purple. When I saw this super cute had cut out in my Frankie and Friends paper I knew I wanted  to make something cute with it.

This card is another one from the online crop over at Sketch N Scrap so this card was a super fast come together win. I love it when everything comes into place!

Here you can see that I popped up the card and added some bling and a little thin ribbon.

I kept the inside super simple

Here is the sketch...adorable and so versatile!

Boo...I'm back

Hi I am back again with another sketch from Sketch N Scrap we are still going strong in our Fall Fun Crop. This is sketch number 2 I used up some more of my Frankie and Friends paper and Embellishments.

Sometimes I like using pattern paper for the card base if it is think enough and in this case it was. I love that the text and the chevron pattern just gives this card a little something extra.

You can see more of the fun text along with the skeleton...so fun for a Halloween card.

Sketch 3 - I hope you can play along. I also have an announcement in my next blog post!

Eeeek

I am playing along with Sketch N Scrap at their Fall Fun Crop it would be great if you could play along there are fun prizes, great sketches and so much inspiration.

Recently I have been on a mission to use up supplies that I have had for a while. I also try to finish up a kit when I can rather than make one thing and put it back forgetting about it for a very long time. I bought this paper a while back though a warehouse sale so it isn't that I have had it forever but I wanted to go ahead and make several projects with it so this fun card is a series of 4 that I made. I thought i would send out some cards to the grand-babies for Halloween.

Frankie and Friends - Simple Stories

I like to decorate the insides of my cards as well.

Scrapbooking...

Whats that? I have dove head first into the world of vinyl and boy is that fun! I realized that I have been neglecting my love of paper-crafts. I thought it would be fun if I started doing challenges again so that I am in my studio and using my supplies.

One of my favorite places to find challenges is over at Sketch N Scrap, they have adorable card and layout sketches each month to play along with and they even offer fun prizes!!!

Layouts are the 1st and 15th and Cards are the 5th and the 20th.

Here is the October 1st Sketch #138

I used some fun Bella Blvd paper that I had, a sticker sheet, and an ephemera pack that goes along with it. It was perfect for my little panda's Halloween photos from last year. Look at me scrapbooking a holiday before it comes around again. Whoo-hoo.

Mark your calendars for world cardmaking day coming up this weekend!!!
