Wonderful Friend - June Stamp of the Month

Hi welcome to the June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Can you believe it is June already??? I cannot figure out how the year is going by so fast. This month we are all about the men in our lives. The Stamp of the Month is a set of 9 called Wonderful Friend. If you came here from Tammy Lea Pinchard's blog then you are on the right track

Recomended blocks are 2" x 2", 3" x 3", 2" x 3 1/2", and 2" x 6 1/2"

Tonight I am featuring a quick card from the Wishes book and Passages paper. I was really happy with how it turned out as I find cards for men so hard to make.  What I ended up doing is just making my paper pop layering everything on Cocoa cardstock. I stamped the "My Hereo - My Friend" in Barn Red three times. I cut out one image around the big circle and popped it up. I then cut out another image around the middle design and popped that up too.  I added one of my favorite touches...Liquid Glass in the center. It mimics the Marks. I tied some Cocoa ribbon around the Marks.
Here is another view where you can see the close up of the Marks as well as the layers on the stamped image.

Now please continue on to Debra Van Patten's blog to see some more great project using Wonderful Friend

Whoooo do you think of?

So my friend Patti is simply amazing and oh so talented. She might tell you otherwise as she is pretty modest but don't let her fool you she has been known in some stamping circles as Yoda...because she is the card master. She can take a pile of paper and turn it into gold. Here newest venture was designing this cute little owl. You can find some of her cards other amazing over at her blog.  If you can't tell by now I just lover her she is one of those friends that make you feel good. In turn she makes me want to pay it forward and make others feel good. I have a whole list of cards that I need to make get well soon, congrats on the new baby, some birthday cards, a few thinking of you cards, and of course a fathers day card or two.  I think it is about time I start crossing off those to do's on my list and mailing out some kindness.

First up a thinking of you card. I have been wanting to play with this little owl for some time and just could not decide what I wanted to do. Finally the other day I thought this would be perfect for a man card. I had all of these fun masculine prints laying around and wala...
I also added some new Close To My Heart Glitz...it is like Stickles but better as you get at least twice as much for about the same price. Love it...

I didn't do to much more to the card as far as embelishments go but I also did a paper peicing all along the bottom base cardstock. It just added enough of an element to keep it interesting. I think the person who will be recieving this will enjoy the simplicity of this card.

I am in love...in love...in love...

with cute little Sophie and my newest find! So last weekend I was surfing the web and came across a new to me line of stamps from Mo's Digital Pencil. Oh my goodness are these images cute! I had to show a little self control and just pick up a few...ummm 5 images later...and I have a card to share. I love love love to color and have been wanting to get back to using my Copics as well as my Prisma's and these little digi images will be prefect for that task. Let me introduct you to Sophie this little girl just reminds me of my little Mai Mai and I had to have her. I think you will be seeing more of her for sure cause she is just "two" cute. Maizie loves her babies and takes them everywhere and even holds them just like this little one.

I decided to jump full force into my love for Sophie and join a challenge over at Mo's Digital Challenge #31 which was to use flowers for May...you know Apil showers bring May Flowers. So we were suppose to stop horning the flowers and shart using them. Well I thought these little flower buttons were just so adorable and I have been hording these little flower buttons so without further ado I present my card.

Here is a close up of the coloring.

Top 10 Tuesday - Today Scrapbooking with a treat

So it is Tuesday and I thought I would do something a little different today and go back to some of my favorite scrapbook projects that I have posted on my blog in no particular order.

Testing her wings - This was a page all about my oldest daughter. I don't normally do pages like this but it was a lot of fun so first manipulate the photo and remove color, then to cut all those tiny flowers, and finally to add all that bling.

Baby Love - These pages are just oh so sweet!!! They feature my little baby girl with her chubby cheekes and her cute little hands and feet. Seriously baby feet are so stinking cute!!! They just grow so fast...

10 things I love about you - Haha...a top 10 page on my top 10 list that is pretty funny if I do say so myself. This is a cute page about the hubster. I like all the buttons and the little extra's on this page. It was fun to make.

Soccer - Oh how my middle daughter loves sports. Her true love is soccer and I love how these pages catch her in action. She just finished up her season with a big win at a tournament. Whoo hooo!!!

T-Ball - She loves soccer and I love me some softball. Now neither of my girls play but I still have high hopes for the little one...even I have to say t-ball as cute as it is can be a little bit painful to watch. LOL It is a good thing they are all so adorable cause those games can go on forever and a day!

Pretty in Pink - Prom....aww time to get all dressed up and have a night out on the town. This was a fun page to do even though her and her date broke up long ago it is fun to see how nice they both looked. I also love all the blooms and I finally had a chance to use that odd ribbon with leaves on it. :)

Hop hop hop...frogs - Yep my middle one is full of adventure. This page features one of my favorite photos ever. It is just so cool as she is looking through the class. Simple fun fast...that is what this page was about.

The closet - yep I have one full of adventure and one full of fashion sense. She is always shifting her clothes around and organizing her things. This was just a fun page of that process.

Just You - Awww... I love this paper on this page. I had this batch of photo''s that I just didn't know what to do with and I had this little bit of paper left that I just couldn't part with and one day the two of them just came together andthe results were...well stunning. It was a perfect match.

Scrap and Spa Shack - These pages are so old and I love to go back and laugh at them because this vacation was anything but relaxing and spa like but it was OH SO MUCH FUN. I have never laughed so hard.

Well I hope you enjoyed some of these pages. There are tons more on here that are worth a look see. Feel free to click on a tag along the side bar. I have been working on some super cute cards that I will be sharing in the very near future. ***Blog Candy Alert*** Tell me what your favorite page was and I will draw names and send you some hand made cards.

Until then...

Spotlight Wishes

Hello and welcome to my blog. I hav  been working on revamping it and really love the way it has turned out. Please take a moment to look around and let me know if you like my new layout. Tonight I am posting about our Wishes Card Confidence Program Each month a group of us like to place a spotlight on current products that you may or might not have. If you do not have exactly what I have used, please just sub out the paper and products that you like. Hopefully you have found your way from Lori Browns blog if not and you are just starting out here please enjoy our hop.

Lets face it some people really got it going on when it comes to making cards. Personally I love to make them as they are instant gratification. They are also a great way to use up some of your scraps from scrapbook pages. Sometimes I can come up with something and sometimes I need a little help to get me started. That is why I love our card confidence program. Wishes is a fabulous book full of detailed sketches, instructions, and samples.

Here is the sketch that I am using tonight

Now I didn't put all the cutting instructions or the samples on here but if you would like some details please let me know and I can get them to you. If you would like to own a copy of this book you can order one here.

I decided to use up my leftovers from my Cherry-O workshop on the go kit. I just think this kit is so much fun. I do appologize my colors are a little funky in this shot. the colors are Chocolate, Sweet Leaf, and the B&T pattern paper. The stamp set is called Bowl of Cherries.
Here is another shot where you can see some of the layers. I cut out each of the cherries as well as the bowl and used pop dots. I also love the way the crochet ribbon looks with this pack of paper. Ohh la la...

Please enjoy the rest of the spotlight on Wishes hop....next up is Melissa Burch I hope you enjoyed my card.

Oh and one more tip...when applying your Glitz set it aside and let it dry. I found my card stuck to my book. Whoops...lol no harm done though it is still all glittery and in the right spots.

Doing the happy dance

Here is a fun little card to celebrate the good weather that we are going to have this weekend. We have been having tons and tons of rain in my neck of the woods.

I just love these little kiddo's. This one is called Play Day and there is a new one in the Summer Idea book called Theme Park. Have you ever noticed them in the Idea Book? They are so much fun to color and just so super cute!! I used CTMH markers on this one and cannot wait to try out another card useing my beloved Copics. Paper is leftover from my favorites: Jingle level 2 kit. This paper isn't just for the holidays.

Stop back by later for the Spotlight Blog Hop we will be featuring a pattern from one of our fabulous How-To Programs.

H2H techie in paradise

I have a little something to share with all of you tonight. I am working on a really cool mini book about a trip I took to LA last year. I was able to visit with a dear friend and spend some time at the beach. I was really happy to be able to get back to the Heart 2 Heart Challenge's as I have missed a few of them.

I thought this would be a perfect time to show a simple technique with you. Distressing, it is easy...fun...and adds so much to a project. One of  my friends thinks I distress everything but I beg to differ alas this little mini needs some stress...err distress.

Usually I just take some snips and open them up and scrap along the edge of the paper. Once that is done I usually push the cardstock forward and back with my finger.

Here is what the mini looks like as you can see the edges have all been destressed. Once I did that I inked up the edges of all the sides. I also inked up the edges of the tan board papers. (that is hard to see in this photo)

Here is a close up of the flower I added some pop dots and some stardust glitz. I just love that stuff!
