Getting punchy with scraps
Here I am back with my Jan 2012 Kit and a challenge from Bash Your Scrapbook Stash and the challenge was to grab three punches and some paper. I am winding down here with my kit so I thought what better way to get rid of the itty bittys that to punch out some little lovelies to use here and there when I was making cards. As you can see behind the punches my stack is getting much smaller. I have made 4 pages and 5 cards so far and plan on doing a few more cards with the remaining kit.

It seems like I can use a thank you card. In my quest to use up my kit I have ended up with a little of this and a little of that. This card sketch is perfect for using up those little bits that you just can't part with because they are so cute.

Sledding
Have you ever wanted to be on a Design Team?
Have you ever thought about trying out?
At Sketch-N-Scrap we have Guest Designers! This is a perfect way to try out the Design Team life and see if it is all you thought it would be. We would love to have you enter into the New Beginnings Crop Designer Challenge
I have a confession to make. I wanted to just use one photo for this sketch and flip it to go along with another single page I did but when I started laying out the page...with pieces because my pile is getting smaller (YAY) I messed up. I added the paper with the words going down it I knew it wouldn't make sense so I had to leave it as is. Well the photo I wanted to use was going the wrong way so I just added a few more pics and mad this work for me. In the end I love how it turned out and I always enjoy getting more photos on a page when I can so this was a win win for me.
Here is the Sketch #97
Good Luck!

Love Birds
This year one of goals is to send more cards. Since I want to send more cards I would like to have more cards on hand.
Funny side note: I originally got this adorable little stamp when it was retiring and I needed stamps to play around with for my wedding invitations. I ended up not using it for that and went another direction with my invitation...I threw that one out the window as well when we decided to just elope instead.
Back to this sweet little card. I wanted to see if I could use winter papers for something not winter related. Here is what I came up with -

What do you think? Does it scream winter? I hope not I was going for love and romance.

Snow
I hope you have been able to join in our fun over on Facebook for the new Beginnings Crop... this is 3rd sketch challenge I hope you can play along.
I thought this was a fun sketch to capture my little ones love of snow. She was a not a big fan the first time she went out in it but once she figured out it snows around her birthday it was true love. I swapped out the two smaller photos for one large one.
Here we have Sketch N Scrap #60 for you to work with

I think it is time to stop hording these cute papers and start using them. Here is the first of several projects I will be featuring on my blog in the near future.

New year...new goals...CLEAN studio
Well not that Christmas is over I had to get my studio under control it was pretty insane back there!
Before:
I had piles everywhere and just a general over all mess! It is hard to be creative when you are in such a mess. So I started digging out while I was still lucky enough to be on winter break.
I dug deep! I dug out old cards that I had made kits for back in my stampin' up days. I think that is from like around 2003 or so...wow!
I will be honest I started to toss the little papers in the trash. But then I felt a little guilty so I dug them out and sorted, and sorted, and sorted, and cut, and sorted. Now I have a bunch more pre-stamped images...after I worked so hard to get rid of them this last year (haha)
Here is what happened! Now when I want to make a card I have card bases in the back and scraps in the front. I don't have to cut into my beautiful 12 x 12 papers I can use these up.
I also reorganized my PL stuff because I am planning on doing that again this year.

New Year means New Goals
Do you make new years resolutions? Here we are a week days in...are you still sticking with your resolutions? I don't make them anymore. I have on going goals in my life that i try to maintain some I have to start over a lot and others I just keep trucking along. I know someday everything will fall into place just the way I want it to.
One thing I do usually do at the start of the new year is make some crafting goals. Here is what I came up with last year
So how did I do? Well I did scrapbook the year PL style but I am on week 33 so I didn't keep up but I did great and plan to finish it out.
I am keeping up with Maizie's school album, but I did not finish nor work on Danielle's & Savannahs albums.
I did not make an adorable baby album but I did make a cute page about Kailey's 1st birthday.
I did participate in challenges but I could have done more.
I didn't keep up with printing photos. Nor did I get to a a crop. I also did not scrapbook one layout a week.
I did make and send a lot of cards this year. I did not build up my card stash.
So then what about this year? Well this year I have again made some crafty goals I feel they are more manageable but we will see.

Lets go sledding!
One of my Crafty New Year Goals was to actually USE my supplies! I know that is just crazy ins't it?
You probably saw my post from yesterday about using up my goods from eons ago, well here is another project from that kit.
Using up my stuff is a big reason why I wanted to get back to a Design Team. I do good when I have some goals to work towards. I also am in a bunch of Facebook Groups. One of my favorites is Bash your stash and this year someone put a challenge out there to do a layout a day...now you can do 10 a week or 1 a day as long as at the end of the year you have 365 pages done (#BYSSLayouts365). Whoa what? My scrappy goal is only 1 page a week that is only 52 pages.
Guess what? I am going for it anyway! So who knows maybe I will have 52 pages maybe I will have 365 maybe i will have more or less.I know one thing...I will have pages. So here is one page of many using the January 1st sketch over at Sketch N Scrap.
I hope you can play along this month and all year! We would love to see you around the blog, the Facebook page and at our monthly crops.

Quick winter cards
Burrrr! We are in a deep freeze up here in Northern Illinois, how about in your area? I have decided I want to pick a kit each month and try to use it up. I have had some of these kits for almost a decade. In the past when I have saved pretty paper or embellishment those things have come and gone out of style. so really I need to be using my pretties in the moment. This month I am focusing in on some winter papers from Jan 2012 and maybe also some from Jan 2011.
I made two cards and I made one horizontal and one vertical. Now that I am looking at them on screen I will probably go in and add some more bling here and there.
I did want them pretty simple so that they are easy to mail off.
The prize this month is so adorable and it features some winter paper from one of my favorites Simple Stories. Come play along, we would love to see your take on this sketch. You have until 9:55 pm CST, January 31st to play along.
Oh and one last thing, don't forget to grab our new button! Isn't it so adorable? You can find that on our blog too.
I am playing along with the first card sketch over at Sketch-N-Scrap I love banners and thought this was a fun layout. Card #113
