DD7 Christmas Movies

We have been watching a few movies here and there and the other day we decided to actually rent movies Kenny grabbed a Christmas movie for all of us to watch. It turned out to be so cheesy but Maizie loved it. We enjoyed it too as it was a very sweet story about a mom who wondered what her life would be without kids. I see more movies in the next few weeks.

DD6 Decorating the house

We made sure to decorate the house this weekend. It was so much fun and we all got in on it. I love going through the ornaments every year and remember when the girls brought them home. It always makes me smile so much.

I ended up cutting apart this cute little banner that I had. I love how it turned out going back and forth around and around with each panel.

Here is a close up where you can get a better view of the banner.

DD5 the Dance

Maizie has loved dance for years and years. She has been taking lessons and finally had her first dance recital.

Here is a close up of some left over embellishments from Yuletide Carol that I got last year from a CTMH club I was in.  One of my favorite things besides capturing the magic of the season is using up my od supplies.

Originally I was going to match Mai's outfit for this page and I am so glad I didn't. The tricky thing here was how to attach the ephemera. I decided to use glitter tape. I love how it turned out.

Here is the other side of day five you can see that I also added  my ticket with some washi tape and made note of the number that Mai's dance troop did.

Here is some journaling on a little postcard. I like how it looks like Santa is peeking out.

DD4 Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Some holiday happenings around out house.

Santa Claus came to town!! I had a bunch of photos but I decided to just use one on this page. I thought it ended up capturing what I wanted to. I just realized I have no journaling here on this one so I might go back will go back and add some in. I will probably add a little insert behind the snowflake and have the tab sticking up. I got the Santa Photos from that blog I keep mentioning Stitch in Time

Here is some hand lettering I did. I also used up some washi that I have had forever and some snowflake brads. Yes brads...when is the last time you used those? Next thing you know I will be pulling out my eyelets!

DD3 I wasn't bluffing

I really am doing the December Daily here is day 3 more regular stuff. My boyfriend and I like to play cards with friends and get together once or twice a month.

Here is the full page it has a lot of sparkly stuff here and there.

Here is the page without the remnants of day two showing though.

A close up of the little tag and that glitter banner is popped up to hold the tag when it is standing up other wise the tag would fall to the side and out the bottom.

I also went to lunch earlier that day and my food shots didn't run out but this one did. I saw this great quote and thought it was perfect for the photo. I did some hand lettering. I took Tracie Claiborne's class Easy Hand Lettering it was a ton of fun and I have been making super cute things ever since.

Oh and in case you were wondering....I won the card game whoop whoop!

DD2 a not so Christmas Diorama

So todays was almost a regular day except the part where I found out that my little one had a diorama due on Friday. Say what??? Apparently I found out about this way back in early November when we had conferences. I really really don't remember anything about it.

After a lot of panic and looking around on pinterest I remembered that I had won these giant stickers at a crop a while back that featured Little Red Ridinghood. Day saved...so here are a few photos from that and a little journaling. Not to exciting here on day 2.

This

is

real

life...

mom life. Ha

Here you can see my #1 from day one and surprise that thing behind it was a little sticker tree on a half page. Those stickers are from one million years ago. I have a few old Simply Scraping kits from Stampin' Up!

see.. using up  my stash yay me!

I was going for a washi tape tree look. I also dug out some of my old sparkly thickers...I love those things.

Here is my page without being able to see part of page 3.

This is not the first time scrapbooking supplies have saved my rear end and I know it won't be the last time either!!!

DD1 The Tree

Look at me blogging two days in a row!

This is actually going to be a regular thing as I work through my December Daily this month. I am trying to work on it every day but in reality I have been snapping photos and finding my stories and then working on them on Sundays when I have the house all to myself.

Here is my day one page

This page is all about picking out our tree. We were able to find the perfect one and it was really cute because my little one reminded me how important special memories can be. As we were talking all about it she remembered how last year we were able to get hot chocolate and said she was looking forward to it because it was our tradition and it was her favorite!

Awwww melting mama heart right here.

The # 1 is in a clear pouch and you can see through to page two. Since you could see through I wanted to put something cute behind it. You will see more of what it is in tomorrows post. I also used my Artbooking cartridge again and used an overlay and made that cute little bow. That was pretty fun.

I had some wood veneers that I got last Christmas and that cute little tag came from another set of  freebies from the Stitch in Time blog...again go check Marie out if you have not had a chance to yet.

I also had several photos I wanted to add on this page so I added these little 2" x 2" flip flaps

December Daily 2015

Hi everyone, I have been super busy cleaning up my studio...I know I know it is never ending. I think I have it in a good place right now I can get in there and work and enjoy my space. sometime in the near future I will do another studio tour but lately I have been thinking all about the December Daily, I know it is already the 10th but I figured I will show you what I have so far and try and get caught up.

Are you working on one? I have wanted to do it for years but have never really understood it. Last year I considered it and was going to buy the kit...WOW was it pricey. I passed. As you know I have been listening to the Scrap Gals podcast and they explained things a lot better.

#1 I don't have to buy the kit to do it
#2 The original idea was to use your stash

Hmmm #2 really got my attention I am like many scrappers and have a big giant stash. So while I was cleaning my room I started setting stuff aside and it was not long before I knew I had a big enough stash to do a December Daily this year.

Here is my front page or my introduction page if you will. I picked up this calendar from Marie Lottermoser over at the Stitch in Time blog if you have never seen her December Daily books for the past few years you need to drop everything and run over there...oh mu gosh so beautiful!!! I also am getting some good use out of my cricut. My Artbooking cartridge from CTMH is the front page here with December along the side. I cut it twice once on red card stock and once on glitter paper. Love love love it.

Studio tour...before

Welcome to my mess! I have been listening to the Scrap Gals podcast and let me just tell you these girls err gals are so funny! I really relate to them so much and have so much in common with them. They are totally inspiring me to get into scrapbooking again (instead of just thinking about it) and so I need to organize my stuff. I have never completely gotten organized form when we moved in March and so it is time. I am attempting to do it this weekend but I am not sure if I will be able to get it all done. If you suffer with me until the end I will also share a little artwork.

I cleaned it up a little because I have ladies coming over for a shoebox swap. Here is the over all space. I am really struggling with the layout.

Here is my printer haha it actually does have a home but when I need it I have to move it because I need an extension cord. It doesn't sit there normally and I think the stuff under the printer is scrapbooks and some layouts that need to be put away. That little table was my Grandma's she had her microwave on it. It is a perfect little table for my bigshot but again I am not sure if I am in love with it here.

Here I have my cricut on a rolling cart. I really LOVE it on there because the paper just shoots out the back and back to the front and it takes up barely any space. In those drawers I keep tools and my PTI stamps. Next to the cart I have some CTMH stamps sitting on an old entertainment center. In those bottom drawers I have cricut cartridges on top of the entertainment center I have my paper cabinets. I love those cubes and really wish I would have gotten two more. I had my bigshot on top of those but I moved that to the other table and now this is just a catch all.

Here is the other view of my space. It looks sort of nice from this angle.I recently put this little kitchen table in my room and took out the folding table. It is smaller but much more sturdy.

This is my original scrapbook space. If you look at my other studios in the past you will almost always see this desk. I love it and don't think I can part it but it needs some love. It need to go through all of this stuff and figure out what to do with it and make this work for me. This is obviously NOT working.

Here is why I love the desk so much ... all that storage!

And my expedite...I had to have one of these. Now I wish I would have gotten the two x four instead of this size. I could have done some much more with them. I need to revamp this and make it work for me. I really am at a loss here of how I want to change this up. Why my messy closet is open I have no idea...

Here is the other side of the mess. Those are all my photos and most of my childhood photos as well. I need to figure out a better system for my photos too.

So that is it folks my studio tour. I have been talking about doing one but wanted to wait until it was clean. I decided some before photos would be great. If you have any fabulous ideas of what to do in here let me know.

Here is my promised art work. This is what the ladies made at the shoebox swap last night.

Welcome to the world!

My daughter had her first baby recently!

Little Spencer...he is just perfect, and sweet, and beautiful, and I can just go on and on. Mom, Dad, and baby are all home and doing great.

I wanted to make him a special little name frame that matched his bedroom so I dug into my stash and found some Hooligans Paper from way back in the day. It was so old that I had to re-glue some of the cute little felt monsters back together. blushing...this is just a lesson to you all USE YOUR STASH.

I love the way it turned out! My daughter and son in law kept changing their minds (read daughter) on what the room was going to be. First it was going to be nautical, then outer space, he suggested monsters inc early on but she didn't want to do that.

So round and round she went pinning this and that. I of course knew I wanted to do a name frame all along so every time she would get a new plan I would go digging...LOL when she told me they went with monsters I just got giddy. I had the perfect paper for a monsters inc frame...except....a while back I went to a crop where you can sell stuff and for some insane reason I decided to sell these little felt monsters. GASP what was I thinking? The best part though is my friend Natalie actually bought them and she is also a scrapbooker (errr hoarder) and so I texted her and told her the wonderful baby news and asked her is she still had those stickers. She said yes!!! Wahoooo!!!!

So I got to make my name frame and I love how it turned out. I decided to go with a 12 x 12 because the background paper is from a level 1 kit and already had that cute blue on there and so I just measured out each of the squares.

Then I popped a few of them up. I also decided I would add his details to some of the other squares. It just all came together really quick.

I made a cute card using the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge. Here is the inside. I kept it pretty simple. They loved the gift and I had to hand deliver it...ya know so I can get some more sweet baby time. Oh how I just love newborns.

Life is Wonderful!!

It really really is!

Welcome to the Rose Blossom Blog Hop!!  You probably arrived here from Mary's Blog. This blog hop is a big circle so you can just hop from blog to blog until you find your way back here. Today we are going to show you art work from the July Stamp of the Month - Life is Wonderful!

Life can be rough it has a lot of up's and downs. 2011 was not a good year and I was so happy to start a new fresh year in 2012. This past weekend I got into my craft room and got it organized. I really wanted to work on scrapbooking regularly again and so I needed to find out where I was at. I thought I was in 2011 but after all was said and done I washed my hands of it. I have most of it done but decided I would just start fresh with 2012. I tend to scrapbook both now and chronologically so I sat down started my list to work off of for 2012.

My photo's are stored in my computer by month. From there I used to put them into folders of stuff I wanted to scrapbook and I would use that to make a bullet point but yesterday I just sat down and looked at the photos and started my list.

January

  • New Years Eve
February
  • Date night with my daughter
  • silly girls
  • and on and on
Once that was finished I decided what I wanted to scrapbook. I realized I didn't even have a photo from NYE (I told you 2011 was rough) so I found a photo that I liked and noticed the other one where I am gazing out to the future perhaps...anyway I used those and thought that this months stamp of the month could not be any more perfect. So if you are still here reading this I shall stop rambling and show you the artwork!

Close up of some banners I made using the Zip Strips

Side view and some of my journaling. Funny how I know how 2012 is going to turn out so that is how I spun it.

How about a little Jackson Action

I will be honest sometimes I struggle when I have a masculine paper pack. That has not been the case with Jackson. Perhaps it is because I love the colors that come in this kit. I really wanted to pair this up with some camping I plan on doing this summer. I will be offering these projects up at the end of the month in two different workshops. A Card Workshop featuring the Camper Crazy stamp set and a Scrapbooking Workshop featuring Picture My Life Cards and The Authentic Live stamp set.
