I see a Pink Elephant in the room...

I had a great thing happen this week and have techonology to thank for it. I was talking to my upline about finally getting my groove back and wanting to work on a new project. Durring this conversation I asked her what she was working on and she said she was working on a project for a team meeting. Then she asked if I wanted to sit in on the meeting via FaceTime. I was so super excited and said yes of course I want to!!!

I had so much fun meeting everyone and was a bit envious of the weather as they got to sit outside I even saw my upline Jayma with a jacket in the sunshine. I was sitting in the dark with a fan on as it is pretty hot in the midwest right now. It went pretty smooth as we both had our iPhones proped up and we only ran into one or two snafu's. She lost a signal and I had to plug in which meant I had to flip my phone upside down...so it was a bit of a wild ride for 3 seconds. Haha I did end up bowing out a we bit early so I thought I would share with them as well as you my project that I was working on.

Since I knew they were going to be working on their projects and I figured I would find something to work on as well. I have been eyeballing this set for a while and picked it up before I moved so I thought now would be a great time to break it out. I knew I wanted to play with my Copics so I went ahead and inked up all of the images and sorted through them trying to decide which image that I wanted to use. The little elephant is the one that called my name the most.

I colored the elephant with my copics and I also colored the clear sparkles as well. I thought I had some pink ones that would match but I only had two and I needed six.

When I color an image I often like to color the main one and then I usually pop it up it give the card some added deminsion.

I also always like to finish the inside off as well.

I will do my best to get back to my studio in the next few days but I can't make any promises. It is suppose to be close to 100 every day and humid. I don't have central air just a window unit that doesn't quite reach my studio...but I will do my best. :)

Thank you ladies for letting me sit in I have a wonderful time and it was fun to "meet" all of you.

Look up in the air

I have been trying to use my new space and get caught up on my 2011 photos. I was very happy to discover that I am working in my June 11 photo's putting me exactly one year behind which is where I am comfortable at. Sure I would like to be working current but that just is never going to be my style. One day I might even go back and do all those photos I took before I started scrapbooking. Did you know that is the big secret? Start current and then try and keep up. Don't get over whelmed because you children are 12, 14, and 16 and you have never started on their baby books just start today and enjoy now. Once you are comfortable or caught up (I know people who are really) then you can go back and do the years you missed.

Ok so on with this page. Over at PersonalScrapper they are having a month long celebration on the Forums. Later this month they will also have a crop but in the mean time there are daily challenges. This one was from June 7th and the challenge was to sand the chipboard letters.

Here is my youngest daughter looking for planes in the sky. She loves to grab the binoculars and have a look around.

I have been wanting to make some of these fun pinwheels that I see all over the place. I am sure you can find a good tutorial on line. I got mine out of a magazine that I found in the move. It said to make a square and then I took an exacto knife and cut down to the middle about 1/4" on each side. After that you add a glue dot to the center and bring each corner to the middle. Add a brad and you are done.

I also did some faux stitching. Originally I was going to do real stitching here but I didn't have any brown waxy flax or embroidery floss so I just used a dark brown pen that I keep on hand.

Here is a close up of my sanded lettering and I also made a fun circle from scraps of paper.

Just another view of my page I just did a little bit of journalling.

A last look at the pin wheels

I was telling you a few days ago that I found over at Sketch Savvy this is sketch number 83 and I loved all of the little pieces. It is the perfect way to use up scraps or stretch your paper which is what I was trying to do. I stayed pretty close to the sketch changing this and that.

Why hello there...

how have you all been? I have been well, busy. I moved again. I know I said I wasn't going to but life has its ups and downs and on one of those I have moved again. I am not ready to show you my whole place yet as it is about 80% complete.

I have been working today to finish up my studio. I have been missing my papercrafts. I have some stuff in the near future to share but in the mean time I thought I would show you my very basic creative space. I don't have any decorations up yet. I am just happy that I have a space. The new house is pretty tiny and I was pretty sure I was going to have to make some major edits to my area. While we were getting settled in I realized my little mud room would be absolutely perfect for my studio.

Cute little mud room is my new studio! Look at all that storage space!

Here are my essentials...inks...ribbon...stamps. D'oh don't look at that Fathers Day project.
Ahh...I love colors!

Did you notice that whole wall of cabinets? Well in the middle of those is this great little box window. Adorable and it also lets in a ton of light. Whoo hoo.
Here is a fun little window space that I will be able to make so cute.
Check out all this storage....

a place for all my adhesives

and all my stuff to be stamped on. Please tell me I am NOT the only one who has a bunch of things to make super cute.

pages to file

Sadly my tools have to go in the closet too but since I am just happy to have a space. I can live with this.

Magazines and Cricut Cartridges

Some cool books and catalogs. <3

Stuff I already made cute. haha

and even MORE storage...
So that is where I have been and why I have been so quite around these parts. I will be sure to post my other progress of the house as it comes along and to post some cute stuff now that I have a great space to work in!
