Thinking of you...

Just building up my card stash again. I like to get card ideas from Catalogs and Idea Books. I have not done that in a while but I keep running across this card from an old CTMH Occassions book and I decided to make my own version. Do you use idea books to get ideas for cards?

I also used my new color pencils on this and did some fussy cutting on the butterfly. Her wings are popped up. I stamped the flower directly on the gray woven paper and I like the way the flower ended up looking textured too.

Horsing around SNS #124

Hello back again with our June 20 Sketch I hope you are inspired by this months sketches they have been so fun to work with.

I recently ordered a lot...I mean a LOT of stuff on clearance from Close to my Heart it was stuff that i wanted but not bad enough to purchase however when they waved that sale flag under my nose I went a little crazy! Anyway I have been having fun with my goodies and so first up is this Little Dreamer set. It was fun to use and the horse was designed to be a unicorn but I was making this card for a horse lover so I just left the horn off. (I have another card share soon with the horn)

Stop by our blog to link up with today's sketch and for a chance to win a prize through the end of June.

Let see what you come up with: Sketch #120

Just because

I like to have a could of Just Because cards on hand well because you just never know when you are going to need one.

Plus I wanted to play with my Prisma's and I have not used this fun little gnome set that I got from MFT a while back.

I feel like I am a little rusty on the coloring front but practice practice practice...guess I will be sharing more cuteness soon. :)

Summer Daze Challenge #4 - Home

Welcome back to our Summer Daze Crop I hope you are finding some time to play along.

The last card I shared on my blog was for my daughter and this one happens to be for her as well. I love that she calls me for cards. It also keeps me up to date on her friends from school that are now all grown up. The latest card she needed was for a new home, one of her friends (and hubby) just purchased their first home.

I knew when I saw this Central Park - Cardmaking stamp set and Central Park paper packet in the new Close to my Heart Occasions mini that I had to have this set. I always love little house stamps and houses that I can color are an added bonus.

I used the blue grid paper to mimic the sky and the green paper to mimic the grass. Then I stamped all the houses in black and popped up one that I colored. Their house is a light brown so I went ahead and colored this one the same. I added a few yellow sequins and walla a quick card ready to drop in the mail box.

I kept this card pretty simple and here is the inside.

Summer Daze Crop Challenge #2 - Congrats

Welcome back to our Summer Daze Crop I hope you are finding some time to play along. Today we have a card for you to try.

Yesterday I received a text from my oldest daughter requesting a card. She needed a graduation card, well I have a standard card that I love to use that involves graduation caps randomly stamped all over the side of my card. I already sent my card off to the graduate so I needed to come up with something else. I thought this sketch would be perfect to use. Hope you like it.

Looking at it here I think I should have added another white panel behind my black panel because it is a little hard to see. I also have some bling along the left hand side.

Here is the inside of the card.

Paper, ribbon, and stamps are some older items I had laying around from Close to my Heart.

Summer Daze Crop - Challenge 1

Welcome to our Summer Daze Crop I hope your summer is off to a great start! I have a full calendar for summer which should make for a lot of super cute pages in my future. Today I decided to capture the special relationship that these two have.

I went outside of my norm and used some bold colors from a Simple Stories Line that I got  a while back in a grab bag sale. I cut apart a full page of frames and played around with them until I found a placement I liked.

Here is a close up. I also added some little gems that you can see here.

I did another little cluster here.

It's your birthday! Chirp chirp

Hi everyone how did you do with National Scrapbooking Month? Did you get a lot done? I sure did. Remember when I mentioned that I was trying to use up my fun sticker sheet from Echo Park that I have had laying around for years and years. Well I finished it up and I finished up another one from Simple Scraps! Go me what a productive month I had. I hope the rest of the year follows suit.

I decided to make some more birthday cards so I can keep sending out my happy mail this year. I used Card Sketch #123 from Sketch N Scrap and was super happy with how it turned out! I also added some cute glitter ribbon from CTMH it is a must have for me I have several colors. I have had white on my list for a long time because I can change the color with my Copics if I want to.

I always like to decorate the inside of my cards too.

Here is the full front sitting on a shelf just waiting for me to send it off and brighten someone's day. This card was mainly done with all stickers but I did end up stamping the sentiment in the sideways banner. I also sprinkled some of my bling I got a while back. I really am in love with those right now.

My used up sticker sheet. I will probably add those stars to an envelope and then toss it in the bin.

Here is Sketch #123 if you want to give it a go.
