Spotlight: Just be yourself and bloom!

Welcome to our monthly spotlight blog hop. You should have come from Carol's blog. This month we are featuring Just Blooms. I love these little flowers, they come in big flowers, little flowers and in various shapes and colors. I have them all but my favorites are the ones are the little colonial white ones. They can add so much to any project. Today I thought I would just showcase a card.

I decided to add some green buttons to my card for the centers of each flower.

These little flowers are also perfect to stamp on or to dye. You can dye them with reinkers or you can even sponge them to gradually build color.

Here is my completed card. I used one of my
favorite papers from the Twitterpatted paper pack. This paper is so fun and flirty which is exactly what I think of when I see these girls from the Be Yourself stamp set.

Here is another view of the card
Now you can continue on to Helen's blog and see what fun fabulous blooms she has at her blog.

Spreading Sunshine

Here in the midwest where I live it is raining cats and dogs today so I thought I would spead a little bit of Spendor and some sunshine!

You might recognized these front two cards from yesterdays post but today I am going to share the two square ones from my set of cards.
First up this adorable flower from the Month of May set...love this flower! This card also has some adorable little details off to the left. There you will find ribbon weaved in and out of some holes that I punched out and then in between the gathered ribbon I secured the buttons.

I love being able to look though these cards!

Hopefully after all of this rain goes away today I will see some rainbows.

and another view of all of the cards.

Clear cards...have you seen them?

Ha ha...parden the pun. Clear cards are really awesome. They do seem a little tricky to work with at first as you need to think of the whole card in order to get the biggest bang with your design. I had so much fun making a set of these. Today I will show you the two littl round ones.

First up...Nothing but blue skies. This card is a perfect share today as it is the start of my summer hours and for the next two months I have Fridays off!!! Whoo hoooo...I am a little excited dif you can't tell. :) I used the fun sun and cloud from Over the Rainbow

For the next card I used this delightful little songbird from Hot Diggity. when you open the card you can  see the music notes it is really fun. I also have a little saying behind the grass.

Cherry O Cards

Today I just have a quick card share. This is a great little fun set of cards that i made using the Cherry-O Workshop On The Go. I just love these WOTG's as I looooove kits I have belonged to a few Kit of the Month clubs in the past and now I can just have my very own kit of the month whoo hoo!  Each kit comes with a set of instructions for a double page spread and six cards. They also have photo's of two more pages and six more cards that you can make. With a reference to which how to book they are in. Even after you make all four layouts and all twelve cards you will still have tons of paper left to make more scrapbook pages and/or cards. So when you order these WOTG's you basically have a full class in a box they are super fabulous.

Don't miss out on todays Jackpot it is a Goodie Box!!

More Man cards

Here are two more cards using this months SOTM Wonderful Friend. The paper used is from Passages. Not a lot of techniques on these last two just your basic stamping. I also cut out the watch and popped it up. I anchored the image with four brads in the corners.

Here is the other card I took one of the Marks and cut off the bottom and popped up each level of the main image for some added drama.

Fathers Day Vest Card

So if you were able to check out the blog hop this month you may have stumbled upon a super cute card made by Melissa Burch that was made into a vest and shirt. As I was stamping my set of cards I just knew that I had to take the idea and run with it. Problem is I have never made one of these criss cross cards. I remembered though that I have a book full of interesting folds and low and behold that card was in there whoo hooo. Combo that with my Martha Steward score board and I was able to make the perfect vest. The name of the book if you are intersted is Fabulous Folds for Cardmaking. It also has a bunch of neat flowers inside as well as tons of Iris folding patterns. Ok back to this card:
Stamp set is Wonderful Friend and Say it in Style. I used Cocoa and Colonial White cardstock. I also popped up the tie and scored the front of the card every 1/4 to make it look like pin strips. Another thing I did was to cut the bottom so it looks like a real vest and I added a pocket and a little hankie.

Here is the inside:
and a close up.

I am a winner...whoot whoot

So something amazing happened to me. I won blog candy!

Fellow consultant Karen Pedersen whom is also a favorite blogger of mine has the most adorable grand-daughter who is always sporting this adorable floral headbands.  Well it turns out that her daughter actually makes these adroable headbands. In order to win all I had to do was help her get her daughter Kori get started and purchase one of these adorable flowers. Uh hello I have been eyeballing these baby bands for months so I thought I may as well give it a try since I have my very own cute babe` at home.

I ordered a band and a few flowers to go with it and they shipped super fast. I was so excited when I opened the box. They were even cuter in real life! Now I tried my best to capture the cuteness but Mai was not having it...so here are a few shots of two out of the three flowers that I ordered.

Here are a few shots of Maizie in the Small White Gerber Daisy  she was more interested in running and playing with her sisters than modeling...lol

Even though she was being so silly I was able to get her to swap out the bling and into the adorable Green Pom Pom Mum

She had a ton of other colors and styles and the quality was great so if you are looking for something a little different and super duper adorable I highly recomend her work you can find her over at Baby Bands & Bling

Time for more man stuff...

Since Fathers Day is coming up I thought I would feature some cards this month that are all about men. Man cards are by far the hardest card to come up with. I really have been pulling tricks out of my hat because I have come up with a whole set of cards that are perfect for the men in our lives. The cards can be for Fathers Day, Birthdays, Thinking of you, Get Well Soon, or any other type of card you might need for your man.

This card was done using Wonderful Friend June's Stamp of the Month and started out as a sketch out of the Wishes book. I used some of the Passages Level 2 paper kit.  I stamped the watch in VersaMark and then embossed it. Then I took a sponge and blotted all around the image to get this emboss resist. I added a little ribbon, a charm and some brads and wala a quick easy adorable card.
Now if you all read my blog you know I like to finish the inside of my cards too so here is what I did on the inside.
Here is a close up...
Well I hope you enjoyed card two in this series. I will have a few more to share and will also be doing a class featuring these cards. More info on that soon. I hope you can make it.

Todays Jackpot is AMAZING!!! See over on the right hand side of my blog for more information on what you have to do. CTMH is giving you the chance to win a free Acrylic Mini Album these albums are so fun to work with. You can see what I did with mine here. What a sweet deal!
