Color chef challenge 4

Well I am back to playing with my new favorite and now you can get your hands on this great stamp set too! Be Yourself is the May Stamp of the Month.

KJ's color challenge this week was all about the pink. With three girls I know all about pink and I love it!!! I decided that my girl needed to be drowning in dimonds and pink...perhaps she is off to prom. My daughter wore a pink prom dress a few years ago and was just gorgeous!

Danielle is my girly girl all about shopping and girly stuff. She humored me and played sports for a long time and was really good at it but her heart is on the girly stuff.

She is so super sweet (she even brought me a blizzard today for no reason yummy) and smart. She is about to graduate high school and go to Nursing school. I am very proud of her.

Here is another view of my card I needed to add some bling! Every girl in a fancy dress needs some bling.
I hope you had a chance to check out yesterdays' blog hop. If not please check it out.

Close to my Heart Blog Hop!

Welcome to our Close to my Heart Summer 2009 Idea Book Blog Hop!!! Over 40 Close to my Heart Consultants are celebrating the release of the Summer 2009 Idea Book. We have all made fabulous creations using the new products that were released hop right in and check out all of the fun fabulous new items available on May 1.
If you just came from Corey's blog then you are heading in the right direction. If not go back to Erin's blog to start at the beginning.
I decided that I had to have the Moon Doggie paper and coordinating stamp sets. Here are a projects that I came up with.
The small card and the scrapbook pages came right out of the Workshops on the Go. I just love the way it turned out. When I was making my page I was just so impressed at how easy it was to follow the directions. I love how CTMH always remembers the details.
I mean just look at this close up with the pretty layering and the stamped Paradise definition...so lovely.
Here is page two

and again the attention to details.
I left my Journey Journaling Spots loose so that I could journal all about our vacation.
This double page spread uses paper from the Moon Doggie level 2 paper pack, Journey Journaling Spots, My Steakease Assortment (level 2), Extreme Happiness, Building Block Alphabet, Crochetd Ribbon, Cranberry Ink, and Desert Sand Ink.
My next project was a quick little 4 x 4 card featuring the exact same stuff as I used for the page.
The next thing I want to show you is a card that I made using the Originals Book from CTMH. I used the Three Elements pattern and I just love how it turned out.
This card is a 6x6 design and uses the Level 2 Moon Doggie paper pack, Cranberry, Garden Green and Honey Ink. I also used brads and crocheted ribbon. On fun element of this card is I used my paper cutter to score the Indian Blue card stock and sanded it down to the core.
This is one of my favorite techiques. The ohter thing I did here was rock and roll stamping. Basically you ink up your stamp, stamp off and then come back around on your ink pad loading up just the sides of your image.
I tried to get a good picture for you here of the flower stems. I used Liquid Glass on the ends. It looks really cute. I also popped up the flowers.
Well I hope you enjoyed your time here at Paisleys Playhouse. Please come back often.
Next you are off to see Amy at My life...as a whifey!
If for some reason you lost your place or just want to make sure that you have visited all of the consultants please feel free to review the list below.

The start of something big!

Here is the simple design that we came up with for my grandma's 90th birthday party this summer.

We are going to change out the white for Colonial White and the center will be sparkly but I need to go grab some stickles. Oh how I love that stuff.

I got a new box in the mail today so guess what that means? Yep...gonna be playing this weekend and that means I am gonna be bloggin...soon with new goodies.

I got me some Moon Doggie and some Tree Tops. I am going to be Makin' Waves and participate in some Extreme Happiness. Are you curious now? LOL I guess you will have to come back soon.

Enjoy the simple card. See you soon!

I am in love...with Be Yourself

Seriously this set rocks! I go to work and dream about coming home and getting the kids into bed so that I can stamp with them. Each day I pick a new girl and come up with an amazing fun card that makes me smile. Here is my main inspiration for todays card. This is my 13 year old Savannah. She is absolutly amazing. She is also very into sports. She joined track this year for the first time to train for soccer and softball. She just finished up her basketball season where she rocked. She is quite the speedy little one and I am not really sure why she never joined track before. Wow do they ever get a workout every day.
So I am super excited cause I am actually on time for KJs color challenge this week. Yeah me! This was a hard one as I am not such a fan of bright bold colors in my cards. I can do pink and orange all day long but pink and yellow and then black makes me say yikes! I did however find a use for this beautiful ribbon that I have had forever and ever.
I thought this jogging girl makes a perfect little track star. I mean seriously this set...I love it!
The girl in this card is running a race, she is jumping hurdles, doing the 100 yard dash and maybe just maybe she might even be talked into the 400 meter as well.
She needs to stay fast...and stay confident.
I hope you enjoy the card today. One of these days I will scrapbook agian.
I am going to have an open house on May 2 and then after that I am going to have friends over to scrapbook or make cards. So eventually you will get to look at pages too!

Everyone loves a little sparkle.

A little sparkle makes everyones day. My cousin came over to play with my stuff so we could figure out what we were going to do for my grandma's 90th birthday party. At first I thought this paper would be perfect as it is just beautiful! It is flowing with two of my favorite colors...green and pink. It has all these fabulous swirls of sparkle. It is also a we bit embossed. I beleive it is from K&Company.

She liked it too and when I told her we would see what we could do with that she said "you're going to use that paper for me?" haha. How many times have you thought that to your self...I am not going to use this cause I am going to save it for this, or that, or the other. Well use it! If you have something that you like or something that you love. Use it, don't wait for just the right project or one day you will wake up and you tastes will have changed or it won't be in style. Use it up if you use all of it well you can buy more.

The card was turning out mych to compicated and the stamp just wouldn't go so we ended up setting it aside.

After she left I cut out another flower and popped it up with a pop dot. Then I added a little bling to each of the flowers.

Stamped a little "just because" added some more bling and wala...fun quick little card.

Be your beautiful self and Color Challenge #2

So wow...I just cannot seem to make the 10 am deadline but I wanted to share my card as I like the way it turned out. I usally stamp on Saturdays and the challenge comes out durring the week...oh well. This color combination came from KJ's second color chef challenge and it consisted of Sorbet and Tulip two of my favorite colors. I also added a touch of cocoa to make the colors pop.
I again used the May Stamp of the Month it is becoming a fast favorite. It is just such a fun flirty stamp set.
I went back and forth and back and forth on these brown buttons. I almost did a vanilla button but in the end I decided that the brown with the colonial white waxy flax...other wise known as that stuff I never thought I needed but absolutly cannot live without.
The other items I used were patterned paper from the level two Perfect Day paper back, Tulip, Sorbet, Cocoa and Colonial White Card Stock, Sorbet Ribbon and Cocoa ink.
Here is a over all view of the card and the inside as well.
I hope you liked this weeks challenge and next week...you never know I might even manage to make the challenge.
This card sketch is from the Originals book.

Be Yourself...

So here is a sneaky peek at next month’s Stamp of the Month. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it! did I tell you how much I love it?

A few ladies on the CTMH boards put this set together with Tickled Pink and I thought it was brilliant. I tried it myself and just loved it.

I used a sketch from the SC211 challenge. I was trying to get some pattered paper where the white is but it was stealing her thunder so I opted for a Hollyhock, Black, and White. I added some white brads in the corner along with some paper piercing for some tiny details. I really wanted some ribbon on this card so I put it around the be yourself flag and popped it up to give it some more dimension.

On the inside of the card I did the dancing girl again but I stamped off three times. Then I added the other words...Confident...Beautiful...Perfect...One of a kind.

I think I want to give this to my daughter or all of her friends or every teenager that I know...or maybe every woman that I know.

I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow so that I could stay up all night and use the other ladies in this set but I am off on Friday...

A little challenging fun

So a fellow consultant has posted a color challenge that you can find here it is her Innagural Color Challege: Color Chef Challenge # 1. I was so excited to stumble upon it as usually I am last to know about something cool going on. This weeks challenge was to use Breeze, Sweat Leaf, and White Daisy. I don't have Breeze so I subbed Cool Caribbean.
I combined it with this weeks sketch challenge over at Split Coast Stampers
I love the way this card turned out. I have been really wanting to do something with this stamp set Precious Smiles. It is a stamp set that can be used to promote Operation Smile or thank your customers for donating. These kids are so precious you can find tons of things to do with this adorable set. The flowers are from A Huge Thanks which is a consultant set with lots of thank yous and adorable flowers.
I really like how this card came together. I played with this set once before and I just was not happy with the resut but I think I will make up some of these so I can send some out.
Don't forget to look at the post below for some Blog Candy.

A little cagie fun and some blog candy!

So I absolutly adore the new clear stamps from Basic Grey called Porcelain Aviary is just beautiful! I was playing with it all day yesterday as my car decided to break down. I am working up some ideas for my grandma's 90th birthday party and though these birdcages were just so sweet.

Here is what I came up with on my first attempt. I used some of my favorite CTMH paper from the level 2 paper pack Perfect Day...love it! I think it can use a little ribbon but I just didn't have any that made it work so I added some brads instead and aged it a little on the sides.

I think of all the bird cages taht come in the set that this one if my favorite. I like the playfulness of it. I am debating on adding a little color to the bottom of the cage where it is solid.

The next card I did fetaured some paper from the Paper Garden I am really liking the way this card turned out and I got to use some ribbon and the rinestone brads that I just adore. It is a little simple but that is ok especially if I have to make a ton of them.

My next card did not turn out so great but I thought I would share just in case anyone had an idea on how to fix it. Again it uses Paper Garden. I really wanted to incorporate my fun punch from the Martha Stewart collection. I also love to sand the CTMH paper so that the white shows through. I aded some fiber so it looks like it is hanging and an eyelet.

Moving on...

I decided to try some bright colors along with one of my favorte card paterns. This paper is using the fun and coloreful Chloe's Closet line from Making Memories.

The last card I made uses More to Adore paper by CTMH it is fun and funky and has Pailsey's in it...how can I not love this paper.

I thought this turned out super. I added a cute brown felt flower with a brad center. I think we might make this one for my stamp club tonight. It should be fun.

On all of these I have room to put your invited on the front and then the inside would have all the fun details. Once a final choice is made I will make sure to do another blog about how the invites turned out and how the party went.

Now moving on to the blog candy... it is a great little calender set that is great for making cards, scrapbook pages, or fun little projects. Here is what the set looks like

I will also add some paper and embelishments so that you can make a few cards.

Please leave a comment by April 15th and I will chose a random person for some blog candy.

I hope you have a great day!

Insert title here...or maybe a little Spring instead.

So I don't know what I would like to call this post but I am sure it will come to me later. I have been MIA lately on my blog and I am so sorry. Just when I was trucking along I came to an uprupt halt. March was a horrible month for me and my family so I just breezed right on by it.

April is going to be fabulous though as April showers bring May flowers. Spring is my favorite season! It is so fresh and clean and so beautiful and it is easy to fall in love in the spring.

I thought I would share a few things that I had worked on over the winter as I try and think up some fabulous spring projects to share. I will have some as I have many many cards and scrapbook pages that I need to make.
Here is a little sweetness for you. My daughter's sweet 16. She just had a small little slumber party with her closest friends and then they went to the festival that is always around her birthday.
From there they ordered pizza and watch really super scary movies! Yikes.
When I say scary I mean scary one of them I would recomend and one of them I would not it was just to gross....
I don't understand how my sweet little girl can like scaryness but she does. The first movie they watched was the Hills Have Eyes this movies was about this family who ends up in the desert and are stalked by crazy people. There is a ton of guts and gore. I had to close my eyes and squirm a lot during ths movie.
The other movie that they watched was one that I had recomended, oh so happy to be cool enough that they not only watched it but liked it. The best part was...it scared them!
The movie was called One Missed Call or Chakushin ari as it was called in Japan. This movie was really freaky and so scary. It is in Japanese so it is translated but it is really good. The remake from 2008, I was told, was not as good.
So if you like scary movies I would highly recomend One Missed Call and if you like cut em up and gory watch them both.
Here is a close up of the sweet little hearts. So I really got off on a tangent there as this post was about spring goodness and sweet 16 parties. I will give you the details of the perdy paper that I used as it sparkles too. I just love it. This is the paper from the February 2009 Kit featuring WeRMemory Keepers Tiffany line which I just love. I loved it so much that I had to renew my membership over at PersonalScrapper.com. They have a great little club over there the papers are always fun and the people are the nicest you will meet on the internet. PS has great contests and fun games. I really miss them as I never seem to find the time to go and participate as I should. Babies...ehem I mean toddlers have gotten in my paper crafting way. We are in a pretty good routine now though so I should get back to my crafting. I hope so anyway as I have invatations for a birthday party and a graduation party to do as well as stock up on my baby, sympathy and birthday cards.
What have you all been working on lately?
